GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

3rd. January, 1912.

Sir,

In reply to your Circular Despatch of 14th.

November, I have the honour to state that all information regard- -ing hydrographic changes at this Port is immediately notified by the Harbour Master to the Commodore who, I understand, promptly communicates it to the Hydrographic Department of the Admiralty.

In these circumstances reports by this Govern-

-ment to the Admiralty would be a mere duplication of information

and I propose therefore subject to your approval to allow the

present system of indirect notification to stand.

3.

Reports will of course continue to be made in

accordance with Colonial Regulations 205 and 206.

I have the honour to be.

Sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

RACK

Governor,&c. .
